Florence: Walking Tour of Cathedral & Brunelleschi's Dome - Florence, Italy
  • Anywhere

EXPERIENCE:

We will take a short journey through the history of the cathedral and listen to the curiosities of its imposing dome and those of one of its most characteristic elements, Giotto’s bell tower.

You will admire one of the oldest buildings in Florence: “The Baptistery of Saint John” with its famous three doors that make it an open-air work of art. Lorenzo Ghiberti Ghiberti, the artist who carved the last two doors, took over 50 years to finish them!
All this before the visit of Brunelleschi’s Dome, a work that shocked the world at the time and continues to amaze the world today. The truth is that what Brunelleschi did, was not one dome, but two. This is only a small part of what will be explained during the tour.

If you don’t see it with your own eyes, you cannot imagine its majesty.

Brunelleschi pass Option
Reaching the top of the dome is not the easiest thing to do in Florence. 463 steps will wait for you, but the reward will be one of the best views of Florence, so, without a doubt, it’s worth it.
