If you are a food lover you will find your ideal setting, and if you think the gastronomic world does not tickle your fancy, the scent and sight of so many delicacies will make your mouth water! We’ll start the tour by having breakfast in the Sant’Ambrogio district, at the historic Caffè Cibreo or the Nencioni pastry shop; then we’ll visit the market, with its stalls of cheeses and cold cuts, meat, fish, fruit, vegetables, bread, seeds, and whatever else, watching the locals and shopkeepers joke with each other while shopping .You will taste typical Florentine snacks such as schiacciata, coccoli and prosciutto, salami and cheese. Outside the market, I will take you to taste the famous lampredotto sandwich and Semel’s unique panini, along with a good glass of wine. Last stop on the food tour, but not less important, will be dessert time: the ever-present ice cream, at Gelateria de’ Medici or Vivoli (where you can also taste the famous “Affogato coffee”), or Dolci & Dolcezze’s patisserie! And do not hesitate to ask your local guide for any reccomendations for the best restaurants and trattorias in town!
