Day trip from Tirana to Petrela Castle – Dajti Mountain, Tirana, Albania

EXPERIENCE

We will begin our exploration in Skanderbeg Square, the heart of the city.
It is the main square of Tirana and is named after George Kastrioti Skanderbeg,
a national hero who fought against the Ottomans in the 15th century.
It s also a popular spot for people-watching and enjoying a cup of coffee in one of the many cafes.

Then we will visit the Bunk Art Museum which is a unique museum that showcases Albania s Communist past.

The National Archaeological Museum in Tirana is a must-visit for history buffs.
The museum showcases a collection of ancient artefacts from various periods of Albanian history, including the Illyrian, Greek, and Roman periods.

The next stop is at The Et hem Bey Mosque which is a beautiful mosque located in the heart of Tirana s old town. It was built in the 18th century and is considered one of the city s most important landmarks.

No visit to Tirana would be complete without experiencing its thriving arts scene.
Wander through the colorful streets of the Pazari i Ri (New Bazaar).
You can find handmade crafts, clothing, and souvenirs.

After that Stop At: Enver Hoxha Pyramid, Boulevard Deshmoret e Kombit.

For all of you who love Castles after a 30-minute drive we ll find Petrela Castle, strategically built during the late antiquity period 3rd 4th century and reconstructed on the 6th century by Roman Emperor Justinian the First.
The castle is located outside of Tirana (Albanian Capital).
On the top of the castle, you ll be enjoying a fantastic view of the valley below, with the option while holding a glass of local wine from the bar integrated inside the castle. In Petrela you ll also have a chance to enjoy local traditional cuisine in a family owned, traditional restaurant.
