EXPERIENCE

Bologna is famous worldwide for its art, culture and history heritage. Even if it’s not a big city, visiting a place so full of culture, music and good food, you will never get bored!
Home to the first university in Europe, founded in 1088, and place of birth and/or home to a great number of world-known artists, writers, musicians, scientists etc, it is also renowned for its food tradition (let alone thinking about the bolognese sauce, known and used all over the world)..

This private tour will start in Piazza Maggiore, the heart of the town, and take you exploring the and hidden gems of the fat, red & educated town

We will explore Piazza Maggiore and its surroundings (City Hall, King Enzo’s Palace, Neptune’s Fountain and square and the Sala Borsa Public Library).

After visiting S. Petronio Church, we will walk to the Archiginnasio Library, once the seat of the oldest university of the western world, and learn about the history of a thousand years old school.

Food time! We will explore the medieval alleyways of the Mercato di Mezzo to dive into the food culture of Bologna: our most iconic recipes, the best food areas of the town, what to look for in restaurant menus etc.

Last, we will reach the Two Towers, the symbol of Bologna, to take a look at the most leaning tower of Italy and learn about the old towers that centuries ago made Bologna’s look like a miniature New York.
