Atherton Tablelands: 3-hr Cultural Tour with campfire lunch - Herberton, Australia
  • Anywhere

EXPERIENCE

The 3-hr Watsonville Culture Park Experience begins at 10am with a warm welcome from our family members, followed by a 40-minute walk on a natural bush trail to see the wide variety of bush foods and medicines of Mbabaram country. On this walk you will also see a real traditional owner camp and learn about how our people have returned to the bush to care for country.
After completing the walk, our guide will explain the importance of Aboriginal art and you will have an opportunity to paint your own piece of artwork to keep.
While your artwork is drying you will then head to our spear throwing range to try your hand at spearing our haybale kangaroo targets and our guide will explain the traditional hunting methods and techniques used by both rainforest and open woodland groups.
We finish off the day with a hot lunch prepared over the campfire and a cup of tea. Fresh fruit, coffee, and cold water is also provided throughout the tour.

As the tour includes a natural bush walk, we recommend wearing hiking shoes or closed in footwear. For those that cannot complete the walk, there is the option to remain behind and a member of our family will stay with you.

Drinking water and an eco-toilet is on site. We recommend bringing a water bottle that you can refill and clothing suitable for the weather conditions on the day.
