On Tuesday (January 31), Lil Wayne revealed that he is joining forces with Young Money, Rolling Loud and Live Nation for a 28-city tour called Welcome To Tha Carter. This announcement precedes the Recording Academy’s Black Music Collective pre-Grammy event, where Wayne will be given the Global Impact Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the music industry. Missy Elliott and Dr. Dre will also be honored at the same ceremony, which is sponsored by Amazon Music and Google Pixel Phone, and is a part of the GRAMMY Week 2023. The Grammy Awards will take place on February 5 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, Wayne is still working on his upcoming album, Tha Carter 6, which he first mentioned during his Young Money reunion performance with Drake and Nicki Minaj at the 6 God’s October World Weekend festival. He has been collaborating with producers such as Wyclef Jean and Juelz Santana, both of whom he has previously worked with on hit songs.
