Relax or hike through the home of Coastal Giant Sequoias trees, the largest trees on earth. You will be amazed by the peacefulness and beautiful trees in the Muir Woods.

EXPERIENCE:

This guided tour takes a relaxed pace, allowing you to fully experience Muir Woods, the nearest giant redwood forest to San Francisco. Begin your journey in San Francisco and cross the 1.7-mile Golden Gate Bridge on your way to this national monument dedicated to giant Coast Redwoods.

Upon arrival at serene Muir Woods, enjoy 1.5 hours of free time to explore this natural treasure, set aside by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1908. Friendly park rangers are available to answer questions, and there are numerous trails to choose from, each offering views of California’s towering redwoods, some over 250 feet tall. One favorite trail meanders along the shaded Redwood Creek, home to the forest’s tallest trees.

While the redwoods are the main attraction, Muir Woods also hosts 13 species of ferns, some of which have been on Earth for over 300 million years. Keep an eye out for native wildlife like the northern spotted owl and deer.
Next, re-board your tour vehicle and head to Sausalito, a charming seaside community with unforgettable views of San Francisco. Enjoy time for lunch and browsing unique shops along the waterfront.

To end your tour, you have two options: Extend your time in Sausalito by taking a scenic ferry back to San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf, with panoramic Bay views along the way, or return to San Francisco with the tour bus, concluding with a convenient drop-off at your original pickup location.
