Pack two of Virginia’s natural must-sees into one full-day excursion with this guided tour of Luray Caverns and Shenandoah National Park’s Skyline Drive. In Luray’s limestone caves, explore stalactites and other geologic formations before hitting the road to take in the spectacular views of Shenandoah National Park along the Skyline Drive.

Start your day with a visit to the Luray Caverns. Explore the spectacular geological features of this incredible unearthly location. The caverns contain uniquely shaped stalactites, which are located in the limestone caves.

Next, head to Skyline Drive, a breathtaking drive through Luray, VA. Overlook exclusive scenic views of the Shenandoah National Park. On your drive, sight the magnificent Crescent Rock, Stoney Man, Franklin Cliffs, and Harry F. Byrd, Sr. Visitor Center and much more.

On the winding driveway on the mountains, stop at the overlooks to observe the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. Take an easy walk on one of the trails among the mountains. If the weather is extreme, the tour leader will cancel the trail trip, and add other stops properly.

Itinerary:

Washington D.C. → Luray Caverns (Optional, 120 mins) → Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park (120 mins) → Washington D.C.

Special notes:

1. Due to the Skyline Drive located across Shenandoah National Park, we enter from Thornton Gap and drive to north exit, this is a one-way tour and lasts 120 mins.

2. On the winding driveway on the mountains, we will stop at the overlooks to observe the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.

3. We will also take an easy walk on one of the trails among the mountains. Total 45 for this trail (round trip). If the weather is extreme, the tour leader will cancel the trail trip, and add other stops properly.

4. During the period of autumn, along the Skyline Highway, you will enjoy the poetic and colorful autumn scenery of Shenandoah National Park during the journey.

5. If the weather is extreme, we cannot enter into the National Park.
