COVERED IN BEES may have taken their name from a punchline of the legendary comedian Suzy Eddie Izzard, but they are no joke. Formed in 2003 with the singular goals of playing both rock and roll, Covered in Bees take inspiration from Clutch, the Misfits, Turbonegro, the Dead Milkmen and the Wicked Good Band and form their own niche dubbed Death Punk. Imagine the Violent Femmes by way of Sheer Terror… Or the Smiths put through the Poison Idea meat grinder. They are too silly for hardcore shows and too aggressive for all-age vegan potlucks, CIB are the favorite band of tastemakers over 50 and under 13 years old. Covered in Bees are Doug (guitar/vocals), ED (bass/vocals), Boo (story-yeller), and Tristan (Drums), and if they can stay up past 8:00 pm to play a gig, you can skip an episode of SVU and see that gig. Because the party isn’t starting… it started… and it is right behind you with an ice cream cake of rock!

Hi, we’re Pigboat. We’re a band from Portland, Maine. We play loud rock music in small clubs in front of people that love us and occasionally get to play loud music in big clubs in front of people that look at us weird. We’ve got a great group of friends and fans that come to our shows and we’ve released a lot of music over the past 15+ years.
