KGNU presents: Songs to Stage feat. The Harriman Sisters, Stryder Jones, Melody, Chloe Ridgeview, Ella Seng, Neva Upton, and TEMPO artist

On March 6th, Roots Music Project is proud to showcase a vibrant lineup of emerging young artists redefining the local music scene. These talented musicians, all between 15 and 18 years old, represent a remarkable cross-section of musical creativity, each bringing a unique voice and perspective to their craft. From indie-folk and alternative sounds to experimental rap and roots music, these young artists share a profound commitment to storytelling through song.

Hailing from Boulder and Lafayette, Colorado, these performers represent a new generation of musicians who are playing music and using it as a powerful medium for personal expression. Through introspective lyrics, complex musical arrangements, or heartfelt performances, each artist demonstrates an extraordinary depth of musical understanding that belies their young age.

Transitioning from writing songs in her bedroom to sharing them with the world, Amiya has released numerous singles and an EP, the half you can’t hold. Her latest release, “Maggie,” explores her folk side, a sound she is continuing to explore in her planned 2025 album.

Whether it’s alternative, rap, or a little ragtime piano, every type of music inspires her to keep discovering new ways to put a feeling into song. Though she started out on piano, guitar quickly became her primary instrument, and now production is on the forefront of her mind. With her most recent single, “Color Me Confused”, she immersed herself in a world of software instruments where it became possible to bring her song to life. For Neva, music is a way to capture a moment, a feeling, a memory, and she hopes to continue sharing her writing. Whether that’s playing it with friends, or for an audience, it doesn’t matter, music is best when experienced together.
