The Chan Band quartet brings a night of jazz through originals, historical jazz and taps material, classic tunes, and exploratory improv.

Chan is a queer nonbinary Black Sicilian rhythmic phonic musical artist from the city of Chicago who specializes in improvisation, taps, and contralto/baritone phonation. Chan strives to investigate the unending capabilities taps have as a percussive form and contributor to the rhythmic fabric of music.

With Chan’s quartet Chan Band, (Tyler Wagner, Erez Dessel, and Daniel Gayden) they execute these possibilities in the Jazz vernacular through originals, historical jazz and taps material, classic tunes, and exploratory improvisation.

Don’t miss their unique approach as they bring a one hour live set to Dorothy on July 21st.

Doors at 6pm and Chan Band plays from 7-8pm. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Dorothy remains open after the show until 11pm.
