Explore the untouched beauty of Colorado’s Summit County with our Introduction to Backcountry Skiing/Splitboarding Course. Designed for beginners and those new to backcountry exploration, this full-day adventure is the perfect opportunity to acquire essential skills and confidence for safe backcountry travel. Led by experienced guides from Colorado Adventure Guides, this course covers equipment basics, avalanche safety, trip planning, and terrain management.

You’ll learn how to use backcountry skis or a splitboard, how to use uphill climbing skins, and basics of avalanche safety including how to use a beacon. The guide will teach you climbing and descending tips.
