Swim with turtles in Akumal and know Tulum!

EXPERIENCE:

Your English-speaking local expert will be waiting for you at your hotel or Airbnb lobby with a great smile at 7.00 a.m. We can change the pickup time if you wish but we recommend this time because we want to arrive early to Tulum and avoid the crowds and the midday sun.

Tulum will be the first stop. These are the only Mayan ruins in front of the Caribbean Sea and the closest to Playa del Carmen, a perfect option for those who want to be dazzled by an incomparable scenery of Mayan culture, without traveling long distances.

Its current name, Tulum, means “between walls”, so literally your guide will open the doors of these barriers to contemplate the immensity of the Caribbean Sea, where the water flashes in 7 shades of blue that you will see from the viewpoints of the citadel. This is the perfect place to take a picture and share with your friends the beauty of Mexico and its turquoise sea.

Everything is done at your pace and you can stay in the site as long as you want. Your guide, who is fluent in English and certified by the INAH (National Institute of Anthropology and History), will give you an extensive narrative about the site and the Mayan culture and most importantly he will answer all your questions.

Our guides love deep, complex and funny conversations so feel free to ask him anything you want.

The second stip is in Akumal, place of the turtles. This bay is famous for being the home of three different species of turtles: loggerhead, green and hawksbill.

Your private guide and your on-site guide will let you know the guidelines of the protection program to fully enjoy the experience.

Turtles are swimming in the sea a few meters from the beach. Once you are ready, your guides will take you into the sea where you will find the turtles in their natural habitat.

The Park has restrooms and changing rooms. By regulation, the time to swim with the turtles is around 60 minutes. Due to the protection program, we are not allowed to stay longer inside the sea, but you can stay enjoying this beautiful beach the time you want.

Before heading back to your hotel or Airbnb. The last stop is optinal, if you are hungry, your guide will take you to a local restaurant for brunch (meals are not included).
