The Newcomer

The story follows a Korean immigrant in the U.S. who feels disconnected from her cultural roots as her homeland becomes increasingly modernized and westernized. She gradually rediscovers cultural pride by realizing that Korean culture itself is a blend of diverse influences, a perspective she embraces in New York City’s Koreatown.

Gloria, a Chinese woman in her 70s living alone and struggling with her memory, finds new purpose in teaching herself Spanish.

“Provisions” is a short stop motion that draws upon the animate possibility of stop motion to articulate the liveliness of culture and memory. The film follows K, a young Trinidadian-American woman who lives on her own, as she prepares provision soup.

Two teens are left to die following a hate-driven assault. With mere seconds in between their deaths, their souls go on their own spiritual journeys. When they finally find each other in the Spirit World, one has already begun preparing for the passage to the next life. 

The Blind Reggaetonera

A blind reggaeton artist defies societal barriers to pursue her musical dreams, redefining disability perceptions while mentoring young disabled students, proving that passion and determination can transcend physical limitations.
