Jonathan Karrant and the Tim Ray Trio – The Johnny Mercer SongbookSinger Jonathan Karrant salutes the music of legendary lyricist Johnny Mercer. Mercers compositions made a significant impact on the Great American Songbook, including songs like Autumn Leaves, Moon River, Skylark Summer Wind and so many more. Mercer was a top writer for Capital Records in the 1950s and 60s and collaborated with several iconic composers such as Henry Mancini, Johnny Mandael and Herold Arlen just to name a few. His songwriting was considered to be very prolific and provocative, creating word images through his lyrics, triggering thoughts and emotions.With a repertoire that spans classic jazz standards and contemporary interpretations, Karrant brings a modern elegance to the timeless genre of jazz. Karrant, who has recorded several of Mercers songs, will perform many of Mercers most popular hits on October 25th, 2025. Karrant will also give you a peak of some of the songs off his most recent album. Jonathan Karrants album, On and On, hit No. 4 on the Billboard Jazz charts and his album Livehit No. 2 on the iTunes Jazz Charts. He has recorded with such notable artists as Diane Schuur and Jane Monheit. Karrant has received honors throughout the United States including: the New York City Cabaret Jazz Honors, Best Singer by the Bravo California Awards and was named one of the Top 10 Rising Jazz Vocalists by Downbeat. Karrant doesnt cover songs, he uncovers them. Jazz Corner All GA sections (Main Floor GA & Miles Davis Mezzanine) will be seated by host and are first come, first served (other than where a reserved sign is posted to table).
