Ladies and gentlemen… we interrupt this program to bring you a special bulletin…
What sounded like an ordinary musical broadcast in 1938 quickly spiraled into chaos — as Americans believed a Martian invasion had begun.
Now, experience the magic (and mayhem) of that iconic moment in radio history brought to life on stage!
Join the Crosley Radio Players for a live dramatization of War of the Worlds — a recreation of Orson Welles’ legendary broadcast that blurred the line between fiction and reality. Featuring vintage sound effects, period costumes, and immersive storytelling, this one-night-only performance takes you straight back to the golden age of radio.
Special Feature: The Terre Haute West Vigo High School Band, under the direction of Chris Gelb, will provide a live pit orchestra to enhance the sound effects and music throughout the reading. Their contribution adds a dynamic, immersive layer to this timeless production.
