Slow Tiger is a collective jazz group with a penchant for emotive melodies that range from the earthy to the atmospheric and even to the stratospheric. The band is composed of longtime friends and collaborators who have developed a shared compositional and improvisational language. The members (JP Schlegelmilch on organ, Kenny Warren on trumpet, Adam Schneit on saxophone/clarinet, Andy Dow on electric bass and Nathan Ellman-Bell on drums) have worked individually as leaders of their own projects, as well as with groups as distinctive and varied as Slavic Soul Party, Brass Against, Hearing Things, and the Webber/Morris Big Band. Slow Tiger brings these experiences together in search of new kinds of beauty and sonority, wherever they may be found.
