WONDER
Chicago tap dancer Caleb Lawrence Jackson invites audiences to experience tap as more than movement — as music itself. In WONDER, he reverses the traditional process: instead of choreographing to a song, he creates the tap composition first, letting musicians build from his rhythms and phrasing. The result is a living conversation between dancer and musician, revealing tap’s deep roots in jazz and its power to embody any genre — from funk to salsa to hip hop. Through both collaborative works and pure acapella pieces, WONDER showcases tap as visual music: a way to see the groove, feel the swing, and hear the dance.
