MCYD’s 20th Annual Paint the County Blue Fundraiser/Party at 9105 Willow Gate Ln – Bethesda, MD

Please join the Montgomery County Young Democrats (MCYD) on Saturday, October 4th from noon to 2 PM for our 20th annual Paint the County Blue party/fundraiser, hosted by Matthew Woorman and Delegate and young Democrat Teresa Woorman! The location is 9105 Willow Gate Lane, Bethesda, MD 20817.

Join us as we celebrate young people in politics, exchange insights, and learn about more ways to elect Democrats up and down the ballot in 2026. We will review the work of local Democratic activists and community organizers. We will also urge folks to re-elect Wes Moore as Governor and send Democrats to Annapolis.

Delegate Teresa Woorman will be speaking, and we will have other speakers as well.

MCYD will recognize the hard work of our fellow activists by presenting the following awards:

-The Jonathan Shurberg Young Democrat for Life Award: To be awarded for a lifetime of dedicated service to the Democratic Party and for a lifetime commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders working to create a more inclusive, just, and progressive society.

-The Dorothy Davidson Award: To be awarded for tireless work for justice and equality and for going above and beyond the call of duty for the gain of the Democratic Party and our community’s greatest needs.

-The Outstanding Leader Award: To be awarded for going above and beyond in leading the Montgomery County Young Democrats’ advocacy or legislative campaigns and working to strengthen the Democratic Party.

-The Organizational Excellence Award: To be awarded​ for actions to further social, racial, and economic justice in Montgomery County or the State of Maryland.

MCYD’s organizing and advocacy couldn’t happen without your support. The success of Paint the County Blue will support our progressive efforts in Montgomery County, Maryland, and and beyond as part of the Young Democrats of Maryland.
