Arciniega Street proudly presents the latest installment of our concert series LIGHTS DOWN LOW

This listening room series features a circuit of different local artists and live bands with a uniquely curated R&B and Neo-Soul setlist in an intimate setting. This fall, we’re excited to welcome the talented vocalist AFE and her live band to our stage for their LDL debut!

Afe is a dynamic vocalist and genre-defying artist whose music bridges the soulful rhythms of Island Reggae and Afro-beats with the emotional depth of R&B, Neo-soul, and ballads. Born and raised in Anchorage, Afe’s musical journey began in the church, where she built her vocal strength singing gospel and traditional Samoan hymns. These early influences laid the foundation for her signature sound – rich, resonant, and deeply rooted in cultural and spiritual expression.

Growing up surrounded by the sounds of 90s R&B and reggae, Afe developed a style that is both nostalgic and forward-thinking. Her stage presence is magnetic — commanding yet intimate — drawing listeners into a space of healing, joy, and empowerment.

Afe is also a member of the House of Luminosity, a QTBIPOC-led collective in Anchorage that uplifts queer and BIPOC voices through art, music, and community. Her artistry gained national attention when she earned a golden ticket and appeared on American Idol Season 21, showcasing her talent to a wider audience and affirming her place as a rising voice in contemporary music. With every performance, Afe invites listeners into her world where island soul meets urban groove, and authenticity shines through every note.
