Fall Magic: A Leaf-Peeping Adventure in the Adirondacks at Adirondak Loj & Heart Lake Program Center – Lake Placid, NY

Join us this October for a weekend of vibrant fall colors, crisp mountain air, and a little bit of trail magic in the heart of the Adirondacks! Hosted in partnership with Kula Cloth and the Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK), this guided hiking weekend is designed for all fitness levels— and all lovers of nature’s most dazzling season.

Our Base Camp for the Weekend will be the Yurt Village at the Heart Lake Program Center, where you’ll wake up to golden leaves outside your window, and spend the day hiking on carefully chosen trails that offer a range of difficulty, beautiful views, and dramatic fall color.

This is a yurt camping experience for humans 18 years and older. We’ll be sleeping in two yurts that accomodate up to eight people each. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or simply someone who wants to take a leaf-peeping stroll, this weekend will help you connect to the land, learn something new, and share the experience with others.

What to Expect:

Guided hikes to destinations like Summit Rock, Indian Falls, Avalanche Lake, or Rocky Falls with options tailored for different abilities.

• Your choice of a long or short day hike
• Professional guides and naturalists from ADK
• A special mini-class for those that sign up for the shorter hike
• 3 cozy meals provided (Sat. Breakfast, Sat. Dinner, Sunday Breakfast)
• Group photos beneath a canopy of red and gold
• A custom Kula Cloth
• Good company, trail stories, s’mores and an autumn adventure

*No pets, smoking or alcohol, please. The use of marijuana, illegal narcotics, and drugs is also prohibited.

What to Bring for a Great Weekend (Gear List):

• Sleeping bag/warm linens, a pillow, a towel, and a headlamp
• Personal clothing for the weekend
• Toiletries- showers are available
• Backpack w/ water, snacks and 10 essentials
• Hat/sunglasses/sunscreen
• Hiking boots/sturdy shoes
• Extra layers/jacket (in case of wind/rain/cold)
• Trekking poles
• Snacks and meals as needed (3 meals are provided)
