Led by former Greenlight general manager Alexis, our Fiction Book Group meets monthly to discuss paperback fiction, reading broadly in contemporary fiction with the occasional diversion into classics.

For September, the group discusses Thomas Mann’s Nobel Prize-winning novel The Magic Mountain—a monumental work of erudition and irony, sexual tension and intellectual ferment. The novel is set in an exclusive tuberculosis sanatorium in the Swiss Alps—a community devoted to sickness that serves as a fictional microcosm for Europe in the days before the First World War.
