Write What You Taste: An Evening of Chocolate and Story at These Hands Maker’s Collective – Los Angeles, CA
Don’t miss this upcoming event in Los Angeles, CA. Happening on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at These Hands Maker’s Collective. Doors open at 6:00 PM.
Come hungry, for flavor and inspiration. This two-hour, one-night-only gathering at These Hands in Culver City is part tasting party, part writing jam, part delicious excuse to slow down and connect.
You’ll nibble extraordinary craft chocolate brought in by chocolate educator and chocolatier Ruth Kennison, who knows the origin stories behind every bite, from the jungles of Brazil to tiny craft chocolate makers you’ve never heard of (yet). Alongside her, travel & food writer David Hochman (NYT, Forbes, Food & Wine) will offer a few creative prompts to help you turn sensory moments into words, thoughts, perhaps even full-on chocolate epiphanies. And not to overhype, but…you may just go home with Ruth’s famous hand-crafted chocolate typewriters.
No writing experience required. No chocolate snobbery allowed. Just come curious and open. We’ll taste, write a little, laugh a lot, and definitely surprise ourselves. You don’t have to share anything aloud—though you just might want to.
Great chocolate. Excellent people. Pen in one hand, bonbon in the other. Let’s go. We’ll have light snacks available. Please bring your own wine!
