Join the Bay Area People Of Color Contact Improvisation Jam, 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of the month.
Join us for the Bay Area POC Contact Improvisation Jam, a dedicated space for People of Color to explore movement, connection, and community through Contact Improvisation. Held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month from 8:00–9:30pm at the Berkeley Finnish Hall (Upstairs Studio), this jam centers the experiences and bodies of dancers of color within a historically white-dominated form.
The Bay Area POC Jam exists to create a safer and braver space for dancers of color, reduce barriers to entry, and provide a welcoming on-ramp to the broader Contact Improv community. We aim to foster a vibrant, inclusive CI culture by centering POC voices and building bridges between newer and seasoned dancers. Whether you’re new to CI or have years of experience, you are warmly invited to co-create a space of joy, trust, and exploration with others who share a desire to move and be moved.
This jam is open to all People of Color. No prior CI experience is required. Come as you are and help co-create a space rooted in movement, care, and collective joy.
