Join The Italian Garden Project, along with Vallozzi’s restaurant, and Mondo Italiano as we celebrate Italian culture and the beloved fig. Events throughout the day include: olive curing, mosto cotto and winemaking, pasta and cooking demos, Italian cards games and more.
FigFest! supports the ongoing mission of The Italian Garden Project including Italian American vegetable garden documentation, heirloom seed and fig tree preservation, and educational programs.

Tastiest Fig Competition:
Do you think your homegrown figs are the tastiest? Enter yours in our fig tasting competition. Bring at least three ripe figs to FigFest in a paper or plastic bag, labeled with your name and the name you use to identify your fig. Tell the volunteers at the admissions table that you’d like to enter the competition. Judging by Hal B. Klein, Post Gazette Food Writer and Dining Critic
