Don’t miss this upcoming event in Cannelton, IN. Happening on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Cannelton, IN – Lewisport, KY on the Ohio River. Doors open at 12:00 PM.
Paddle approximately 10 nautical miles from the Cannelton boat ramp to Anderson Island on day one. Tent camp overnight on the island, enjoy campfire dinner, and finish early the following day with another 3 nautical miles paddle to Lewisport, KY.
– Bring your own paddle and camp gear.
– You will be required to sign a waiver before launching with us.
– You must wear your life jacket during the paddle and have a white light on your boat (a headlamp will do in a pinch).
– There will be a shuttle available to you.
Shuttle Service Steps:
– Drop off your equipment at the Cannelton boat ramp between 11:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. CST where a Paddle Perry volunteer will watch over your equipment while you drop off your vehicle in Lewisport, KY.
– Park your vehicle at the Lewisport boat ramp (approximately 20 minute drive one way) and take our shuttle back to Cannelton. The shuttle will leave the Lewisport boat ramp at 12:30 p.m. CST. Don’t be late!

What to Pack:
• Life jacket – no exceptions.
• Paddle-craft and paddle.
• You will need to provide your own camping gear (i.e. tent, sleeping pad/bag, etc). Pack accordingly and do not over pack – it’s only one night. If you have questions on what to pack reach out to us at info@paddleperry.com
• White light (preferably 360degree light for your boat, a headlamp will do in a pinch)
• Bug spray, Sunscreen, Personal Hygiene items.

• Snacks, drinks, dinner and breakfast.
How to Pack:
– Pack everything in dry-bags. Tip: Pack what you can in gallon ziplocks before packing into dry-bags for extra security.
– Tie down or otherwise secure items to your paddle-craft. In case of capsize we do not want your items floating down river without you. Tip: Use carabiners and ropes, and do not rely solely on your bungee cord.
– Pack light, bring only essentials.
Itinerary:
Saturday, September 13:
– 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. CST Drop off boats and equipment at Cannelton boat ramp.
– 12:30 p.m. CST Shuttle departs Lewisport.
– 1:00 p.m. CST Safety Talk, Expectations and Protocols
– 1:15 p.m. CST Depart Cannelton
– 6/7 p.m. CST Arrive at Anderson Island and set up camp, collect firewood
– 8:00 p.m. CST Dinner provided by Paddle Perry (all beef hot dogs with bread and condiments, chips, bottled water — if you have any dietary restrictions please plan accordingly).
Sunday, September 14:
– 6:30 a.m. CST Coffee & Breakfast provided by Paddle Perry (muffins, bottled water — if you have any dietary restrictions please plan accordingly).
– 7:30 a.m. CST Depart Anderson Island
– 9:00 a.m. CST Arrive in Lewisport. If you took the shuttle, your vehicle will already be on site. Otherwise, you will need to make your own arrangements after the paddle.
— If there is an emergency and you need to leave early, contact one of the guides to assist in getting you back to Lewisport safely.
