Black Mental Health Village is proud to announce we’re hosting our very first fundraiser event to support our various programming.

Black Mental Health Village is excited to host our first fundraiser to support our mental health, community outreach, and policy and advocacy programming.

Mimosas and Mics is a vibrant, community-centered brunch experience that combines open mic performances, music, and a silent auction in a celebratory atmosphere. Designed to uplift and empower, this event invites local artists, poets, and performers to share their voices while guests enjoy brunch and mimosas in a relaxed and affirming space.

Whether you’re there to perform or simply soak in the vibes, Mimosas and Mics is a space for connection, creativity, and culture.

We’re searching for poets, musicians, and storytellers to perform at our Mimosas & Mics Fundraiser—a celebration of art, advocacy, and community healing.

Why Submit?

✅ Perform live at a curated brunch event (food + 1 mimosa included!)

✅ Compete for cash prizes ($300 top prize – $200 runner-up – $50 for 3rd Place)

✅ Amplify your voice: Selected pieces may be featured in BMHV’s advocacy campaigns (you can opt out anytime).

Theme:

Your work should explore mental health, addiction recovery, tobacco and nicotine addiction, resilience, or overcoming systemic struggles.

How It Works:

  2. Pay the $10 submission fee
  3. Upload your piece—text, audio, or video.

Deadline: September 2, 2025

Selected Artist will be notified by September 6, 2025

By submitting, you agree to BMHV’s non-exclusive use of your work for mental health and health justice advocacy (revocable). Submission does not guarantee performance opportunities or cash prizes. Winners will be chosen based on skill, originality, and alignment with themes (mental health, addiction recovery, resilience). The $10 submission fee supports administrative costs and is non-refundable, even if not selected.
