Enjoy brews & views at Upslope’s Backcountry Tap Room benefitting Leave No Trace on Sept. 13th at Winter Park Resort on the Mary Jane side!

We’re back to the backcountry! Join us for the 10th annual Backcountry Tap Room, our hike to a pop-up tap room experience for brews and views, on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at a new location at Winter Park Resort!

Get ready to enjoy some good beers in the great outdoors… but you’ll have to earn ’em! Join us at 9,600 feet for a family-friendly, day hike to soak up some brews and views!

↠ NONPROFIT PARTNER: We’re teaming up with our friends at Leave No Trace again this year! 50% of the profits will go directly to Leave No Trace to support their continued efforts in protecting the outdoors.

↠ WHEN // Saturday, September 13 (9:30 am – 5:00 pm)

  • Bar hours: 10:00 am – 4:30 pm
  • Check-in opens at 9:30 am
  • Check-in closes at 2:00 pm
  • Last call at 4:30 pm. Event ends at 5:00 pm.

↠ WHERE // NEW location – Winter Park Resort – by way of marked trails (Lower Roof of the Rockies Trail + optional 2.1 mile Ute Trail to start and/or Fantasy Meadow loop before getting to the tap room site). You’ll take the scenic Gondola to the top and hike* ~2 miles to the tap room. Your ticket includes the gondola ride.

*NOTE: There is also an option to bypass the gondola on the way up, should you wish – hikers will take the Ute Trail from the base before meeting back up with the Backcountry Tap Room event trail. This moderately challenging trail adds 3.8 miles to the experience with 1,558 ft of elevation gain (expect an average of 1hr 30 minutes hiking before meeting up with the ~2 mile trail to the top). Total hike if you skip the gondola ride = ~5.8 miles. The Ute Trail will be closed on the way down; all attendees are asked to take the gondola on their ride down.

*STROLLERS: The trail leading to the Tap Room is truly a backcountry trail that has tree roots and rocks which will make it difficult to push a stroller through. We do not recommend strollers for this trail.

↠ TICKETS // Event profits benefit Leave No Trace

  • Event ticket (hike + beer): $31.00 + fees
  • Non-drinker ticket & Kids over 16 (hike only): $20.00 + fees

All 21+ attendees (with valid ID) will receive four (4) drink tickets – good for one (1) specialty brew and up to three (3) more cans of our 12 oz beers, Spiked Snowmelts or Hard Yerba Mate.

↠ VOLUNTEER! // Join the event crew for free admission and beers, and most importantly, to help us pull this thing off! We’re looking for beer slingers, muscle for set-up and breakdown, friends at the front gate and folks to help leave things better than we found ’em on our Green Team!

↠ FOOD // Pre-order your lunch and pick it up at the top!

Check out Winter Park’s food options when you buy your ticket – Purchase via an Add-on ticket. Sandwich + chip options (Turkey club, Grilled chicken, Roast beef, and Vegetarian Hummus Wrap – Gluten Free options available; add $4).

>> Be sure to bring a valid ID with proof of your ticket on your phone or a print-out. *TIP: Take a photo/screenshot of your ticket from your email, as wi-fi may not be reliable upon check-in

>> No overnight camping – event ends at 5:00 pm.

>> No smoking.

>> Furry friends are welcome, but must be on a leash at all times. Make sure to pick-up after your pup, too!

>> Please be mindful of wildlife in the area and be sure to exercise Leave No Trace principles (pack it in, pack it out!).

>> NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL. Alcohol consumption is permitted in designated event areas marked by the Backcountry Tap Room bar and should not extend on to trails.

>> No refunds. Event is rain, snow or shine (check the weather and plan for it all – come prepared!). Weather will be continuously monitored, as the safety of our guests is paramount. If lightning and thunderstorms are in the area, the event may be shut down or paused for safety – an announcement will be made asking all guests to head down the mountain (event is not above tree line).

Happy trails!#apreseverything
