Eddie Watkins Jr. is a dynamic figure who bridges Motown’s golden legacy with modern spiritual music.

Becoming a session bassist for Motown’s Norman Whitfield at the age of 17, Eddie played with iconic acts like The Temptations and The Undisputed Truth. As Motown and Eddie moved to Los Angeles, he become a sought-after A‑list studio bassist, contributing to recordings by Quincy Jones, Barbra Streisand, Herbie Hancock, Santana, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, the Pointer Sisters, James Brown, and more. Eddie’s bass lines are part of timeless hits such as Dan Hartman’s “I Can Dream About You,” The Pointer Sisters’ “Automatic,” Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive,” Pattie Austin’s “Come to Me,” and Billy Preston’s “With You I’m Born Again.”

Following a struggle with substance abuse, Eddie entered recovery and underwent a spiritual awakening that reshaped his life and art. When he became involved in the new thought / ancient wisdom movement in 2007, songs woke him up pouring out of him. His first CD was conceived, recorded, produced and selling within six months. To this date Eddie has written, produced and recorded seven spiritual inspirational CDs.

Eddie’s journey to become a soulful spiritual messenger embodies artistic excellence and heartfelt transformation. His music uplifts and inspires diverse audiences across the continent as he seeks to “raise the vibration of the planet.”
