Happy Humanimals: Extended Play (Emerald Forest day trip) at South Kirkland Park & Ride – Bellevue, WA

This Happy Humanimals: Extended Play is a very special day trip to the Emerald Forest in Redmond for lovely forest bathing and outdoor connecting. To see more photos and excited about where we’re gathering, check out the Emerald Forest Instagram.

NOTE: This is special event is only for people who have attended a Happy Humanimals event in the past. If you’re interested in a communication and consent event like this, please look for the next foundational Happy Humanimals event.

We will gather promptly at the South Kirkland Park & Ride at 10:15a and return everyone to the Park & Ride no later than 6:30p. Full schedule is below.

Extended Play is similar to Snugs & Connection, except that the opening circle is significantly abbreviated to include a short embodiment drop-in and an introductory circle, leading into 3 spacious hours of snuggles and other negotiated touch within the HH container and agreements, followed by the usual closing circle.

Our agreements include that all touch will be fully clothed, optional, nonsexual, verbally requested and granted, malleable or veto-able at any time. We encourage clear yesses and nos and asking for the things you want in this playful environment.

• $95 — Supporter — Enable another community member with fewer resources to join

Ticket sales end the day before the event at 12pm.

No tickets will be sold at the door.

Complete 1 registration for each attendee. If you purchase a ticket for another person, please use their name and email address.

Come solo or with a friend or partner. There will be no attempt to gender-balance.

Important details

Driving

There is very limited parking at the Emerald Forest, so we will meet at the South Kirkland Park & Ride where we will consolidate into a few cars. Drivers and riders will be assigned at the Park & Ride. If you interesting in driving, let us know when you arrive.

Schedule

This is an all-day event. Becauase we will be carpooling, we will not coordinate groups to leave early. If you cannot attend for the entire duration, please do not register.

• 10:15a – arrive at South Kirkland P&R please be on time so we can leave promptly
• 10:30a – leave South Kirkland P&R – if you are late, you will not be able to join us!
• Approximately 12p – 4:30p – picnic lunch and event drop-in time
• Approximately 6 – arrive at South Kirkland P&R and disperse

We will be collectively bringing our squish to the Emerald Forest, setting up, and cleaning up when we’re done.

In the woods

The venue is an easy ½ mile walk on a trail through the woods from the parking area and unfortunately is not accessible to wheelchair users.

The forest floor around the venue is beautifully groomed and is comfortable in bare feet.

We plan to be outdoors all day. The forest is shaded by the canopy, and we do not anticipate being in full sun. There is a yurt we will use in the unlikely event of rain. Plan for the weather.

Food

Please bring a picnic lunch for yourself and any snacks that you would like to have.

Optional: If you would like to bring anything to share, please be aware we have community members who are gluten free, vegetarian, dairy free, etc. We will have labels for any shared food.

Other details

If you are feeling sick or test positive for COVID prior to the event, we are happy to offer a full refund. We do not require proof of a negative COVID rapid test to attend.

This event is sober and fragrance free. Please arrive free from fragranced deodorants, perfume, cologne, hair spray, body spray, smoke (this includes cannabis for medicinal use), and clothes that have been laundered with strong smelling detergents. Wearing unscented, natural, and mild deodorants are welcome and encouraged.

Wear or bring pajamas or comfy clothes. Think cozy, not sexy.

While this event is strictly platonic, we require all participants to be 18 or older.

Please note that Happy Humanimals events are not a therapeutic setting, and the facilitators are not operating in the role of counselors. If you have needs that would best be served by a mental health professional, we welcome you, but please do not consider this practice as a substitute for such care.
