Desert of Maryland has been established since September 30, 1893. Mother Temple of the Desert of Maryland is Jerusalem Temple No. 4. Desert of Maryland consists of nine Temples and eight Courts. Thus, the Mantra: 9 Temples, 8 Courts, equals 1 Desert (981).

The Desert of Maryland reside in the state of Maryland which adds the following history. Maryland is a Mid-Atlantic state that’s defined by its abundant waterways and coastlines on the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean. Its largest city, Baltimore, has a long history as a major seaport. Fort McHenry, birthplace of the U.S. national anthem, sits at the mouth of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, home to the National Aquarium and Maryland Science Center.
