Monday Fun-Day Concerts with Kidsinger Jim & Rocknoceros – Washington, DC

Abraham and Mary raised their young son, Tad, here at the Cottage for 13 months of his childhood. Tad played tricks, made friends, and was a source of laughter to the adults around him. In this spirit, we hope you will join us in the Robert H. Smith Visitor Education Center each Monday morning this spring for a rockin’ good time! Aimed at young children and toddlers, this is a morning full of music, dancing, laughter, and lessons about caring for ourselves and our community!

This event is perfect for littles and their caregivers. The Group Program Room inside the Robert H. Smith Visitor Education Center at President Lincoln’s Cottage.

Free parking is available onsite!

KIDSINGER JIM

Puppet Show:

The Kidsinger Jim Puppet Show features a cool wooden barn set and nearly life-size animal puppets. Meet Momma Cow, Henry the Horse, Farmer Stu, Hope the “Hip-hop-potomus”, Josie the Giraffe, Monte the Moose, Launcy the Lion, and the children’s fave – Edgar the baby Elephant. During the show, Jim and his puppet friends will sing some well-known songs and Kidsinger Jim originals.

Music Show:

Kidsinger Jim sings and plays guitar along with the backing tracks from his studio recordings. He also creates tracks for the folk songs he includes along with his originals. ROCKNOCEROS

Rocknoceros has entertained tens of thousands of fans around the country, performing at Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and the Kennedy Center. Since its inception in 2005, Rocknoceros has won ten Washington Area Music Awards and has found its way into the hearts and homes of music-lovers of all ages. Each week will be a little different and will feature either Kidsinger Jim or Rocknoceros. They might even team up for a special weekend event in May! Stay tuned! When we’re able, we will have some of the performances outside, but we always have an indoor back-up space.
