Having had cerebral palsy since birth, I’ve used a litany of mobility devices over the years, the last nine of which I’ve been using a 54lb off-road wheelchair as my sole wheelchair. It’s been great, but after nine years of loading it in and out of my truck daily, it’s begun to take its toll on my shoulders. The Bowhead Era weighs 6.6 pounds, and is entirely modular, allowing it to be adjusted to my body as it changes with age. This is truly the first and last wheelchair I will ever need. Unfortunately it is not covered by insurance, as it is new to market, and not carried by durable medical equipment suppliers (the ones that bill insurance). By attending this show, you are not only supporting local comedy, but giving me back my mobility moving forward.
