Course Description

Those attending the 2025 BIAK Brain Injury Summit will learn the influence social determinants of health (SDoH) have upon TBI incidence, recovery, and outcomes. Attendees will explore how these modifiable and unmodifiable SDoH impacts the health and well-being of those they work with, which SDoH are most commonly which groups may be more at risk, the impact of language, literacy, and mental health upon outcomes and assessment, and which survivors are likely to have poorer outcomes. Attendees will gain practical knowledge and skills for how to identify and address these factors within their daily practice, whereby better long-term outcomes can be achieved by those recovering from brain injury.

Attention Speech-Language Pathologists: Participants wishing to earn ASHA CEUs must attend the conference in its entirety, submit a course evaluation, and complete the post-course self-assessment/reflection.
