Thomas Jefferson Memorial Designed by John Russell Pope in 1925, the memorial resembles the Pantheon in Rome, an adaptation of Neoclassical architecture favored by Thomas Jefferson himself. The open-air, white columned structure shelters a 19 foot bronze statue of Jefferson, standing at the ready to welcome visitors. Martin Luther King Jr Memorial After approaching fifteen artists, they found that four of them recommended the Chinese artist Master Lei Yixin. After the Foundation interviewed him in Washington, DC, examined his work in China, Master Lei Yixin became the official sculptor.

National World War II Memorial
Twenty-four bronze bas-relief panels flank the ceremonial entrance. To many, these panels stir memories as they tell the story of America’s experience in the war. Granite columns representing each U.S. state and territory at the time of World War II ring an impressive pool with water shooting high into the air.
