Date: Saturday, October 4, 2025 Location: Lake Jericho, Smithfield, KY ⏰ Event Time: 9 AM – 3 PM (Tentative) Open to the Public – No Experience Needed!

Paddle. Race. Celebrate. Join us for an exhilarating day on the water at the 2025 Dragon Boat Festival at Lake Jericho! Whether you’re a first-time paddler or a seasoned racer, dragon boat racing is an unforgettable experience that brings people together for fun, teamwork, and friendly competition.

About the Races

Race Format:

• 200-meter sprint course on a calm lake (non-motorized boats)
• Each team races three times
• Teams compete in divisions for awards (assigned based on registration)

Team & Boat Size:

• Full Team Roster: Up to 25 people (allows for alternates)
• Full Boat: 20 paddlers + 1 drummer (we provide an experienced steersperson)

No experience? No problem! All training and equipment are provided. Ages 12 and up can participate.

How to Get Involved

✅ Start a Team – Be a captain, gather your crew, and compete for the win! ✅ Join a Team – Sign up under an existing team. Ask your captain for details. ✅ Find a Team – Register as an individual and we’ll match you with a crew!

Registration Fees:

• $1000 per team (up to 25 people) OR $50 per person
• Includes two team-building practices ($500 value per session)

Captain’s Guide to Getting Started

What You Need:

• A Team Captain – Your team’s main point of contact
• A Team Name – Something fun, or we can help choose one!
• A Registration Fee – Pay a $100 deposit to hold your spot or $1000 full team payment (discounts available for Travel, BCS, Community & Multi-Team registrations)

Captain Responsibilities:

• Manage team roster & ensure waivers are signed
• Collect payments (team or individual basis)
• Schedule team practices
