This special charity concert supports life-saving treatment for two-year-old Ismagil, who was born with metachromatic leukodystrophy (MLD)—a devastating inherited disease.
MLD is a rare genetic disorder that damages the protective covering of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, leading to loss of motor skills and cognitive decline, and, without treatment, is often fatal in childhood.

Thanks to remarkable advances in medical science, there is new hope. A pioneering gene therapy program in China is offering children like Ismagil a chance at life. Chinese physicians have invited him to participate in an innovative treatment trial. If successful, this breakthrough could help bring access to life-saving therapy to children in countries that currently lack gene-therapy options.
