Hamlet / Black Parade at The Mercury Theater at Mercury Theater – Baltimore, MD

Motte & Bailey, prod. presents “Hamlet / Black Parade,” a musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic by Hannah Fogler. Fogler’s adaptation weaves Shakespeare’s text and My Chemical Romance’s “Black Parade” album together to create a production unlike any other. Part Shakespeare performance and part rock concert, “Hamlet / Black Parade” celebrates both the text and the music – each amplifying the other.

Starring Emily Classen, Lance Bankerd, Siobhan Beckett, Amy Bell, Sophia Bell, Brad Bukowsky, Derek Cooper, Vexara Domingo, Emma Grace Dunbar, T. Fleming, Hannah Fogler, J Purnell Hargrove, Barbara Madison Hauck, Donna Noelle Ibale, Jess Miller, and Brad Norris, “Hamlet / Black Parade” runs for two weekends with performances at the Mercury Theater on October 3, 4, 9, 10, and 11 at 8pm, with special additional performances at Boordy Vineyards at 6pm on October 5 and at The Cloisters at 8pm on October 8.

Content Warning: “Hamlet / Black Parade” depicts emotionally abusive relationships (romantic and familial), consensual and non-consensual violence in relationships, suicidal ideation, and on-stage violence, self-harm, and suicide.

This production makes use of theatrical effects including haze/fog, stage cigarettes/blunts, flashing lights, loud sounds, and very loud music.

The run-time for this production is approximately 2 and a half hours including one 15-minute intermission.
