Reviews of Wagon Tracks:
“Wagon Tracks” charts Myles’ investigation into early notions of what it means to be female, as prescribed by the Mormon church and as portrayed by her own female ancestors. Myles first inhabits the worldview she’s challenging, and then carves a path out of that view, into a more habitable feminine landscape and paradigm.
Both apocalyptic and redemptive, Delisa Myles’ “Wagon Tracks” challenges the patriarchy, dismantles gender discrimination in Mormon doctrine, uncovers buried female sexuality, sheds associated sexual shame, rewrites divinity, and rejoices in the revised feminine truth. With reinvention of the holy trinity, Myles ushers in a new day and the audience is baptized in the newness.”

“Sometimes a performance comes along that melds words, movement, story, artist and that amorphous element, that magical ingredient that defies description. Such is Delisa Myles’ WAGON TRACKS. Part memoir, part history, Delisa takes us on a journey that we do not simply observe, we experience. We feel the exhaustion of a life without repose, the rage of a life limited by autocratic actions of men, the joy of seeing light when least expected, and the triumph when we of the audience join with this Every Woman who stands within us and before us on the stage declaring her self-hood, her right to do more than just exist, who shouts her rightful place in the Universe. This is a performance piece that stuns with its artistry, that shocks with its raw power, that lifts us with its lyricism and asks us to examine our own lives in the bright light of love and the deep dark of despair. In each of us, the piece argues, resides that spark that ignites giving us the sheer will to not just follow the wagon tracks, but to create them as well.”
