Sound Therapy in Community

Harvest of Harmony: A Sound Sanctuary for Renewal

A Community Sound Bath | Hosted at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Davenport, Iowa | Open to All Ages

Our last Community Sound Therapy event at Trinity sold out, and we can’t wait to welcome you in October for this new sound therapy experience.

In a world that often moves fast and can feel overwhelming, we invite you to pause and rest in calming frequencies to reset your nervous system.

In just 60 minutes, you will feel much calmer, experiencing deep relaxation and nervous system regulation.

Here are some kind words from recent sound bath participants:

“Today was an especially high-pain day for me, but after the sound bath, I’m nearly pain-free! I’m never without pain, so this is a big deal.”

“I had the best night’s sleep I’ve had in years after the sound bath. Thank you!”

“What you do is real, beautiful, multilayered, and truly comforting.”

“My headache was completely gone after the sound session! Incredible!”

An Invitation to Pause

As autumn unfolds with the Autumn Equinox, where the balance of light and dark lingers in the air, we are called to slow down. In a world that moves endlessly fast, taking time to rest isn’t just a luxury—it is a necessity.

The Sound Journey

On Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 6:30 PM, join award-winning musician and certified sound therapist Lynne Stukart for an enchanting evening of sound, rest, and renewal. Together, we will honor the gifts of body, mind, and spirit, journeying into the wellness embrace of vibration, resonance, and frequency.

Step into a luminous sound sanctuary where vibration is more than heard—it is felt. With the body made up of over 70% water and sound traveling 4.5 times faster in water than air, healing frequencies flow through you like threads of light, dissolving tension, quieting the mind, and guiding you gently home to yourself.

This is more than a sound bath – it includes the power of using intentions for healing, chakra balancing, and the ability to journey for a deeper experience

What is a sound bath?

A sound bath is a deeply relaxing experience where participants are “bathed” in sound waves produced by various healing instruments. These instruments often include singing bowls (Tibetan &/or crystal), gongs, tuning forks, chimes, drums, flutes, and other sonic tools that produce calming sounds. The goal of a sound bath is to promote deep relaxation, reduce stress, and restore balance to the mind and body through the power of sound.

During a sound bath, participants usually lie down comfortably or in a seated position, often with their eyes closed, while the practitioner plays the instruments in a specific sequence. The sounds and vibrations help guide the listener into a deep meditative state, where they can experience reduced mental chatter, emotional release, and physical relaxation. A sound bath can also align and balance the energy centers in the body (also called chakras).

Some key benefits of sound baths include:

  • Stress relief: The calming sounds help to slow the heart rate and reduce blood pressure, easing tension.
  • Pain relief: Participants report experiencing less physical pain during and after a sound bath.
  • Deep relaxation: The vibrations help quiet the mind, promoting a state of deep relaxation, similar to meditation.
  • Balance and healing: Sound frequencies are thought to work on the body’s energy field, aligning the chakras and promoting healing.
  • Improved sleep: Many participants find that sound baths help improve the quality of their sleep by calming the nervous system.

Many participants report feeling calmer, lighter, and more grounded after a sound bath. The soothing vibrations can help ease anxiety, reduce physical pain, and quiet the mind—inviting the nervous system into a deep state of rest and repair. Sound baths may also improve sleep, uplift mood, and bring a renewed sense of clarity, peace, and well-being.

It’s a very gentle and non-invasive form of therapy, making it accessible to people of all ages and health conditions. A sound bath can be a wonderful tool for anyone looking to unwind, meditate, or enhance their well-being through sound. It’s also a great way to elevate your consciousness!

What should I bring to a Sound Bath?

It’s recommended to bring a few essentials to ensure you’re comfortable and fully immersed in the experience. Here are some ideas: a yoga mat, cushion, or blanket to lie on comfortably, a zero gravity folding chair, a pillow or cushion for your head and neck support, an eye mask, a water bottle, personal items like crystals, and an open heart and mind.
