Legendary pianist Natalia Trull, People’s Artist of the USSR, shares her artistry and legacy as one of the world’s great piano educators.

Natalia Vladimirovna Trull is a celebrated figure in the world of piano, recognized as a People’s Artist of the USSR, a Laureate of the USSR State Prize in composition, and an Honored Artist of Russia. She serves as a distinguished professor at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory.

Throughout her illustrious career, she has garnered numerous accolades, including:

  • Silver Medal, Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition (1986)
  • Gold Medal, Monte Carlo International Music Competition (1993)
  • Prizewinner at the Belgrade International Music Competition (1983, Yugoslavia)

She has been a jury member for many prestigious international competitions, including the Schumann International Piano Competition (Germany) and the UAE International Piano Competition, among others.

Professor Trull’s students have achieved extraordinary success on the world stage, earning top prizes at the most prestigious competitions:

  • Eva Gevorgyan — Finalist at the Chopin International Piano Competition (Poland), First Prize at the Van Cliburn International Junior Piano Competition (USA), First Prize at the Cleveland International Piano Competition (USA)
  • Tianshi Wang — Silver Medal, Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition
  • Kirill Rogovoy — First Prize, Russia’s Grand Piano Competition; First Prize, Krainev International Piano Competition
  • Elisha Mysin — First Prize at the Cleveland International Piano Competition (at age 12), First Prize in the adult division of the Chopin International Piano Competition (USA), and First Prize at the Mozart International Piano Competition (China)
  • Vladimir — Finalist, Van Cliburn International Amateur Piano Competition (USA)

Natalia Trull’s students have consistently achieved top honors at major competitions, including the Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Van Cliburn, Schumann, Cleveland, and Mozart International Piano Competitions. She has been a lifelong jury member for many of these events.

As a concert pianist, she has performed with all of Russia’s major orchestras and many of the world’s leading ensembles. In addition to her prolific performing career, Professor Trull is a sought-after masterclass and seminar instructor, having taught at international summer academies and conservatories across Germany, the United States (Los Angeles Summer Institute), Serbia, Croatia, Brazil, Chile, Georgia, and Italy.

Her legacy is marked by extraordinary artistry, deep pedagogical insight, and the continued success of her students on the global stage.
