Celebrating Community, Diversity, and Belonging: Que Rico Nightclub Family Expands Its Legacy

Oakland, CA — The vibrant tapestry of Oakland’s LGBTQ+ community is about to gain a dynamic new thread with the highly anticipated opening of a new Queer Space called Next Level, operated by the acclaimed Valentino Presents and Que Rico Nightclub Family. Designed to be a beacon of diversity, acceptance, and creative expression, Next Level is poised to redefine nightlife and community engagement for queer residents and allies across the Bay Area and Northern, California.

Opening Announcement

The Que Rico Nightclub Family is thrilled to announce that Next Level formally Level 13 will officially open its doors to the public on Thursday, August 28th one week before Oakland Pride on Sunday, September 7thmarking a new era for queer culture in Oakland. The opening celebration will feature performances from local drag artists, DJs, and more, welcoming attendees of all backgrounds to an inclusive and festive environment.

Located at 341 13th Street, Oakland, CA Next Level sets out to become a sanctuary where every individual, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, or background, can feel safe, celebrated, and empowered. The space will follow in the foot steps of Que Rico Nightclub’s long-standing commitment to inclusivity and diversity in the Bay Area Night Life Scene.

About Que Rico Nightclub Family

Que Rico Nightclub opened it’s doors during the height of the Covid Pandemic in April 2021 and has been a cornerstone of Oakland’s nightlife scene since it opened, renowned for its unforgettable parties, amazing drag performances, delicious Go-Go Dancers and creation of a safe space for queer individuals. Their commitment to uplifting marginalized voices and fostering meaningful connections has set a gold standard for what it means to be both a business and a community leader.

Que Rico Nightclub is a Co-Producers along with Club Papi of the Latin Stage at both Oakland Pride as well as San Francisco Pride.

The opening of Next Level represents the next chapter in Que Rico’s storied history—a bold expansion that seeks to bring together diverse communities and offer programming that speaks to the unique needs and aspirations of the Bay Area queer community.

What will happen to Que Rico Nightclub?

Que Rico Nightclub isn’t going anywhere. Some programming from Que Rico will be moving over to Next Level specifically our Saturday Night Latin Party. Fridays will remain our weekly Party called Muévelo, while Saturday will transform into a new weekly Pop, Hip Hop and House Queer Dance Party. Programming and Events

Next Level will offer a diverse array of programming tailored to the interests and needs of the LGBTQ+ community as well as our allies, including:

· Weekly dance parties including our Saturday Night Latin Fiesta

· RuPaul Drag Race Viewings and Performances

· Offering space for queer meetup groups

· Film screenings highlighting queer cinema from around the world

· Art exhibitions and workshops led by Bay Area creatives

· Community celebrations for Pride, Trans Day of Visibility, and other key dates

· Cultural nights spotlighting the rich diversity of queer identities

· The Space will also be available for Wedding Receptions, Corporate Events and other Community Events.

Community Partnerships

Recognizing that lasting change is built through collaboration, Que Rico Nightclub and Next Level has partnered with a wide range of local organizations, including LGBTQ+ advocacy groups and health service providers. These partnerships will enable Next Level to offer not only entertainment but also support for Oakland’s queer residents.
