Ravel’s 150th Birthday Celebration — Saturday, March 8, 2025 – New York, NY

Doors open at 4:30pm

Performances – 5pm

• Ravel’s Le Tombeau de Couperin by Henry Kramer
• Ravel’s Piano Trio by Nadejda Vlaeva (piano), Claire Bourg (violin) and Leland Ko (cello)
• Ravel’s Piano Concerto for the Left Hand performed by Vyacheslav Gryaznov and his G-Phil app.

Festive birthday dinner – 6:30pm

We will start with a fun quiz presentation — 20 Questions about Maurice Ravel — with interesting tidbits about Ravel’s life. The winner gets a special framed photograph of Ravel celebrating his birthday with friends in New York City in 1928.

At 7pm, we will celebrate Ravel with a fine Champagne toast and festive dinner while mingling with our artists and each other. The dinner will include dishes honoring Ravel’s Basque heritage specially prepared for us by a Spanish chef, plus a quintessentially French dessert from Balthazar.

• The first movement of Ravel’s famous Gaspard de la nuit piano suite is called Ondine, for which our cat is named after. Gaspard has a catalogue number of M. 55.

• Benefits: the above benefits, plus a custom made tote bag, featuring specially created photographic art of Ravel… thinking about our beloved cat Ondine!

Your additional patronage for this special event will go towards supporting our five artists and towards defraying the costs of the overall event, including the festive dinner (the cost of which is not covered by the ticket price). Any additional patronage above $50 will also receive a 501(c)(3) donation receipt for tax deduction.
