Enjoy a cruise down the Mississippi River followed by a city tour through historic neighborhoods of New Orleans, including the world-famous French Quarter and Garden District.

EXPERIENCE:

Take a combined half-day tour of the Mississippi River on board a historic steamboat and explore the world of the buccaneer Jean Lafitte as you travel from the French Quarter of New Orleans to the shore of Lake Pontchartrain. The river cruise and city tour must be taken on the same day.

Start your day off right and discover 3 centuries of history, legends, and romance as you encounter “The City That Care Forgot!” Your experienced guide will amaze you with stories of voodoo and piracy on the Bayou St. John, the water used by Jean Lafitte and his band of pirates, as you make your way to the shores of Lake Pontchartrain.

This city tour includes 3 stops. First, learn about the above-ground burial systems in New Orleans at St. Louis Cemetery #3. Next, you’ll hop off the bus at City Park, where you’ll be able to purchase beignets at Café du Monde or set out to find your own “Instagrammable moment” among bayous and groves of ancient live oaks, some more than 800 years old. Then, follow the route of the streetcar and Mardi Gras parades down St. Charles Avenue as you head to the Garden District. Here, you’ll enjoy a stroll through one of the most well-preserved neighborhoods in America before heading back to where your tour started in the heart of the French Quarter.

Following the tour, board the historic Steamboat NATCHEZ, the last Authentic Steamboat on the Mississippi River. On this 2-hour day cruise, you will get the sense of the early days of this port city when life was as slow and graceful as the current on the Mississippi River. Enjoy a live jazz concert on board as you cruise past the Chalmette Battlefield, where Jean Lafitte and his buccaneers joined forces with Andrew Jackson to defeat the British in the Battle of New Orleans. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase onboard for an additional fee.
