Explore Alcatraz Island on a tour of the notorious former federal prison. The next day, escape the crowds and explore Muir Woods National Monument and the artsy town of Sausalito.

Experience 2 days of adventure on a tour of Alcatraz Island, Muir Woods and the hip town of Sausalito.
First, enjoy a narrated boat tour around Alcatraz Island before docking. Then, take the guided “Doing Time: The Alcatraz Cellhouse Tour” from the dock to the main prison building.
Enjoy breathtaking views of the San Francisco skyline and Golden Gate Bridge. The tour also includes entrance to The Aquarium of the Bay.
The next day, visit Muir Woods National Monument. Marvel at the old-growth forest, which is located about 30 minutes from downtown San Francisco, just over the Golden Gate Bridge.
After a pickup from a central San Francisco hotel, head north over the bridge and into the Marin Headlands.
If the fog is clear, get a chance to stop and take some pictures of the bridge up close. When you arrive in Muir Woods, enjoy 1.5 hours of roaming through this living museum. Catch a glimpse of the towering trees that used to dominate the west coast, from Santa Barbara to Washington.
After exploring , hop back in the vehicle for a quick ride to Sausalito. Here, take a 15- to 20-minute narrated tour through the beautiful seaside Mediterranean-style town. Then, have 45 minutes of free time to explore and heading back to San Francisco.
