As the day transitions into night, the desert landscape undergoes a stunning transformation. The Twilight & Moonlight Paddle begins in the late afternoon, just as the sun starts to dip toward the horizon. Paddlers will launch from Kayak Beach near Willow Beach Marina.
Glide smoothly over the calm waters of the Black Canyon on the Colorado River. As the sun sets, the sky fills with vibrant hues of orange, pink, and purple, casting a mesmerizing glow over the canyon walls. This is the perfect time to soak in the serene atmosphere and fantastic photo opportunities, appreciating the mind-blowing views.
As you paddle through the twilight, your professional guide will share fascinating stories about the area’s historical sites. From ancient Native American petroglyphs to remnants of early explorers, the canyon is a treasure trove of cultural heritage and scenic views.
After the sun has set and the sky darkens, the true magic of the moonlit paddle begins. If you’re lucky enough to join during the three days before, during, or after a full moon, the canyon will be bathed in a soft, ethereal light. However, even without the full moon, the experience remains enchanting. Midway through the journey, you’ll have the chance to relax on a private beach.
