MASTERCLASS: Creating the Best Place to Work
In this dynamic masterclass, Emily Davis of First Stop Health will delve into the roles employee wellbeing and organizational culture play in recruitment, retention, and success.
Leaders are faced with many decisions around your workplace, your people, and your culture. The choices you make can have profound impacts on the longevity of your workforce, the productivity of each individual, and the overall success of your organization.
As a leader, how well do you prioritize the importance of how these components affect and shape your workforce and ultimately lead to greater productivity and higher returns? In this interactive workshop, Emily will guide you through a deep-dive into the correlation between employee culture and organizational performance.
Her framework is based on a Harvard Business Review article titled How Company Culture Shapes Employee Motivation that describes a comprehensive study based on this very topic. After surveying more 20,000 workers around the world, analyzing 50 major companies, conducting scores of experiments, and scouring the landscape of academic research in a range of disciplines, this study came to one conclusion: Why people work determines how well they work and how committed they are to the organizations they work for.
The study identified four categories of people’s motives – why people work – with regard to their work. Truly understanding and embracing these motives helps leaders better understand why people work and how to keep them fulfilled, engaged, productive, and loyal to your organization.
Culture is an ever-evolving ecosystem, and leaders can build and maintain a high-performing culture focused on well-being once they can confidently understand the motives behind why people work.
