Our guide will help you paddle through the inertia of the Colorado River. Take in the beauty of the steep canyon with rugged walls, keeping an eye out for local wildlife along the way. Reach Emerald Cave, a small notch in the Colorado River canyon wall where the lighting creates an otherworldly color. Enter the cave and have the chance to snap some photos.
Continue along the river, soaking up views of desert terrain. Stop along the way for a quick 5-10 minute hike leading to 1920s stone foundation of a river gouger’s home, offering a peak into the area’s past and some gorgeous views of the area.
Peer into waters that are stocked with rainbow trout weekly as you paddle by the Willow Beach National Fish Hatchery. Try to catch a glimpse of these sliver fish as they swim through the emerald waters.
Paddle up to the second Gaugers House that’s hanging off the side of the cliff and see the original site for the Hoover Dam.
Bring along your own snacks or a picnic to enjoy during your stop at a stunning beach in Emerald Cove before paddling back to the Willow Beach Marina. Return your gear and end your experience with unforgettable memories of this unique area.
