The presenters, Julia Tribe, MA, ExAT and Barbara Allyn, ACTT, ACI, would like to invite you to their introduction to Tribal Theory Global, a foundational healing practice.Ā
At this workshop, participants will :
1. Gain an understanding of tribal theory global and it’s relevance as the healing practice. Participants will be introduced to exploring methods such as sensory dialogue, symbolism, and ceremony, all enriched through the Expressive Arts.
2, Will learn and create transformational, performative, and shape shifting techniques that empower them to discern and communicate their true selves. Through the use of recycled materials, participants will examine hidden, undervalued, or discarded aspects of oneself, and engage in a meaningful process of self-discovery.
3. Will use art making as a metaphor and an interactive medium to transcend one’s lived experiences, transforming them into symbols of personal significance. Participants will explore how creativity can serve as pathways to deeper self-understanding.
4. Participants will delve into their inner selves and express these discoveries outwardly through the expressive arts. This process will engage individuals to reclaim their authentic selves and explore aspects of ndividuality, contemplating whether they identify as a hunter, a homebody, or a guardian.
Who is this workshop for? The public, ExAT’s, Regulated Health Professionals, ExA/Tās & other creatives.
Participants who complete the workshop will receive 2 continuing education credits.Ā

Bios of Presenters:
Julia Tribe: MA, ExAT: Julia is an Expressive Arts Therapist (ExAT), educator, and artist committed to creating collaborative, art-based experiences for diverse individuals. With a background in theatre design, she explores alternative narratives bringing her expertise in shaping spaces, adorning characters, and creating immersive artistic experiences.
As the artistic lead at Willow Springs Creative Center, Julia engages the community through biannual events promoting imaginative exchange in nature from 2022 to 2024.She is also launching a project on ā Our Diversity Through Puppetryā in the schools and communities for 2025 and 2026. In collaboration with renowned trauma and crisis response consultant Barber Allyn, Julia employs Tribal Theory Global healing principles of sensory dialogue, symbolics, and
ceremony. Her workshops empower participants to explore transformative techniques that help them communicate their true authentic selves.
Barbara Allyn: ACTT, ACI: Barbara is a Canadian renowned trauma and crisis response consultant and author of
The Genius of Anxiety, Depression & Trauma. Barbara has spent two decades training and working with schools, first responders, veterans, veterinarians, forest rangers, foster and youth care, corrections, crisis teams, disaster teams and medical staff, to re-tell the story of our cellular response to crisis, adversity and trauma. She uses Sensory Dialogue, Symbolics, and Ceremony which, unlike the Western dogma under the guise of mental health, acknowledges and invites world views of healing.
Tribal Theory Global is now integrated in several post-secondary institutions that aspire to equip learners with global healing practices to engage with individuals, families, and communities impacted by trauma. Tribal Theory Global can be found at Onajigawin Indigenous Services as well as the Child & Youth Care – Indigenous Specialization
programs at Confederation College, in addition to select courses at Lakehead University in the department of Aboriginal Education.
