We will load the wagon and depart from Creekside Family Fun Center to begin our journey through time along the famous Bozeman Trail. Our knowledgeable teamsters will paint a picture of our pioneer ancestors’ experiences, filling you full of nostalgia as you put yourself in their shoes.

Mountain Plains Heritage Park

We encourage you to stretch your legs along the one-mile groomed nature trail at Mountain Plains Heritage Park. Walk in the paths first traveled by the pioneers of the Bozeman Trail and gaze at the beauty they saw as they approached the Bighorn Mountains.

Moon Hitch will drop you and yours at the bottom of the trail system and will pick you back up on top near the historic homestead cabin. Take in the vast panoramic views of our beloved town and Bighorn Mountains at the top. This is a gradual incline walk and is completely optional.

Mountain Plains Heritage Park has been established for the preservation of this heritage and to help visitors become aware of the history at this crossing in the valley. It is also a great place to observe waterfowl and whitetail deer.
